I decided to make a horror film trailers and also a film poster. Here i am going to be analysing film posters and gathering ideas to go towards my A2 course work.
Let the right one in
- This film poster has one main image. Even though it is slightly to the right of it, its still an eye catching image.
- Making the image blend in with the back ground gives in a much more mysterious feeling to it. Making you feel on edge whilst looking at it and making the audience want to know what is leering in the mist.
- The main image has its hand up, looking like it is pressing up against the glass. Giving the audience a feel that its trapped and wanting to get out or giving you the feel that its watching you throught the window...
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- The main image is slightly higher to the middle of the page. This over powers the shot making you feel that the face is looking down on you.
- the font size changes through out the title giving you the main words to focus on 'chainsaw' this over powers the other words and makes you want to know what has chainsaw got to do with this film poster.
- The film poster has lines going all the way through it giving it an old fashioh feel to it, as you wonder what decade it has been set in.
Enden Lake
- Compared to the other two film posters I have analysised this one is much more busier. Having the main image to the left of the page, gives you an idea that she is hiding.
- The film poster is quite gloomy but they have made the light shine onto the lady on the left to indicate she is the main character.
- By the flower patterened dress she is wearing it gives you a feel that in inicent and vonerable from the things hiding beneath the woods.
- The font style is bold and the blood coloured font makes it stand out from the dark and grundgy back ground.
The Ring
- This film poster may not be very clean to what the film 'the ring' could be about but after watching the film you get a strong link between the poster and the film.
- Putting fuzzy lines through the poster indicating the fuzziness on the tv after you have watched the tape.
- Also the circular shape in the middle of the poster is making you feel like your in a trance. Also helping the trance feel is the writing and how it is trying to make you feel like you are Hallucinating.
- The colours are very dual and dark giving it a spookey feel to it.
